What are the chances of getting caught for buying WoW gold?

My friend wants me to ask this. He needs about 50k to 70k wow gold, and was thinking of buying it from one of those millions of websites that sell WoW gold. He wants to know if he should buy it, and if anyone has or know someone who has, please tell your story. What are the consequences of being caught buying it? Most helpful answer gets BEST ANSWER =)

I'll answer your question, but then I'm afraid I have to insult your friend. My apologies in advance. I am quite sure you can safely buy the gold. The only thing Blizzard (WoW's company) will know is that someone gave you 50K gold.

Anyone is allowed to give anyone else gold any time they want to. If by some strange chance your friend gets "caught", and Blizzard actually knows that he bought the gold, the would probably just confiscate his gold. He would lose all that he bought.

The insult: Gold sellers are scum. Gold buyers are worse. I've played WoW since it started. I've got 5 guys over level 70, and I've got over 100,000 gold without EVER, ever, ever buying 1 little copper. My first character was the hardest. I had to work extra hard to get him the things he needed. BUT THAT'S PART OF THE GAME! Nowadays, it's easier than ever to make gold.

Even lowbie characters can mine for metal ore or pick herbs and sell them for HUGE amounts because of all the inflation. One example - a stack of copper ore SHOULD and used to sell for about 40 silver. Now you can get 2, 3, sometimes 5G or more for just one stack.

So...no, your friend wouldn't get in trouble. I would like to recommend you a site to buy safe wow gold.
